Museum District

If you're in the market for a new home, Museum District has a fantastic variety of designs to choose from. Most common in this neighborhood are attached homes, which usually have monthly homeowner association fees ranging from $42 to $4,600, and taxes for the year range from as low as $3,433 to as high as $33,878. There are also a variety of single-family homes. Those usually have annual homeowner association fees ranging from $42 to $4,600. Property taxes for the year can range from $7,412 to $17,914.

Sunday can be spent exploring the museums without the Saturday crowds. With over twenty museums to choose from, there is something for everyone. Hermann Park is just a short walk and offers paddle boats, a train ride, and a giant park for kids of every age. The Japanese Gardens also offers a peaceful retreat from the city and allow Sundays to be spent while enjoying lush, natural scenery.

The Museum District isn't a densely populated part of Houston, but there are many great condominium options scattered throughout. While there are a few single-family home areas, most of this area is taken up by high-rises. The condos mostly cater to a more luxuriously minded audience and come with plenty of features to entice young professionals to the area. The neighborhood is located close to two major freeways, which makes commuting easy.

Surrounding the museums are plenty of great food options. You won't find many popular chains in the area, but if you're looking for local flair this is the perfect place. From food trucks showcasing unique culinary combinations to well-established Houston favorites, there is a wide variety of places to choose from. The area is also home to some of the city's most beloved dive bars which offer a welcome distraction from the high-powered nightlife of Montrose and Downtown.

The Museum District is one of the more touristy areas of the city, so you're more likely to see people wandering to their next destination. There is a strong young professional atmosphere, however, with the condos and proximity to business areas of the city making it a great place for a younger crowd to settle. The light rail travels through the area, so you can hop on and off to visit downtown and other Houstonians visiting from the surrounding neighborhoods.

Friday nights are best spent exploring the different locales the area has to offer. The Houston Zoo extends hours into the night so you can explore this Houston staple without the Texas sun beating down on you. Some of the museums, like the Museum of Fine Arts, host Friday night parties with DJs and cocktail bars. The Miller Outdoor Theater is part of Hermann Park and hosts free concerts and orchestra performances in the summer. There is always something to do in the Museum District on a Friday night.

Museum District has seen 697 home sales in the past 12 months. Homes sold at prices as low as $149,900 and as high as $1,300,000, but the average price of homes sold was $410,700. With prices averaging $215 per square foot, homes were listed for an average of 69 days and sold for approximately 95.78% of their listed price.
